What is online counselling?
Online counseling (e-counselling or e-therapy) takes place on the internet. We either arrange meetings in a private (Skype) chatroom or send each other email.
We can work by text (and have a written record which can be read again) or by webcam, the choice is yours.
Online counselling is convenient if your lifestyle involves shifts, long journeys to keep appointments, care arrangements for others or frequent travel. It may also help if you find it difficult to speak about your problems to someone in the room.
I offer you confidentiality, respect and support without judging you. I encourage you to explore what’s causing the problem and we work together to understand what's happened and problem-solve by changing how you deal with the current problem and similar situations in the future. Before we start to work together, we make an Agreement which states how and when we will be in contact.
If you’re having a problem with a significant relationship or you’re feeling anxious or depressed, working with me will help you stand back from the situation and see what you can do to make things easier for yourself.
If you would like to discuss how online counselling could help you, please send me an email. I’m happy to answer your questions before we begin. See also Getting Started and What Does it Cost? for more information.
