About Gill Jones
On this page I show you how I am accountable to my professional body and how you can check out my credentials.
How I prepared for online counselling
I began my counsellor training in 1990 and was introduced to emails in 1996 (my eldest child went off back-packing and they were a great way to keep in touch). In 1997 one of my face to face clients talked about an internet relationship and I realised how powerful they could be. I thought about working online as a counsellor but did nothing about it until 1999 when I noticed a forum message about training counsellors prior to working online. I joined in and throughout 2000 worked online with a group of counsellors who were all interested in setting up an online practice. In 2001 I set up my first counselling website and have been online ever since as counsellor, supervisor and trainer of other counsellors. If you visit www.onlinetrainingforcounsellors.co.uk you can find out about the training programs for therapists which I helped develop. If you’re interested in receiving some online supervision you can find out more about my online supervision practice here.
